Job Description

  • Providing overall leadership, vision and direction for the Enterprise wide risk management framework i.e. reputation risk, legal and compliance risk, credit risk, market risk and operational Given the need for integration of risks, the individual would play a significant role in coordinating the efforts of the risk committees leading towards risk aggregation
  • Establishing an integrated risk management framework for all aspects of risks.
  • Extending risk principles into wider business strategy
  • Ensuring business continuity, defined as the ability to sustain operations in the event of major losses and have crisis management policies in place.
  • Identifying and monitoring emergent risks that may be material to the Bank in future due to changes in the risk environment. He should also design appropriate policies and procedures to manage such risk
  • Allocating capital to business activities based on risk and optimizing the Bank’s risk portfolio through business activities and risk transfer strategies
  • Understanding the business strategy of the Bank and use necessary measures to influence both the subsidiary board and the managers and employees responsible for making day-to-day decision
  • Enable the Bank to make decisions based on a better appreciation of the relationship between risk and reward.
  • Put risk policies and appropriate systems in place to identify the correlation among risks within the businesses of the Bank to enable integration of risks
  • Ensuring validation of models under all the risk streams
  • Ensuring the development of the analytical systems and data management capabilities to support the risk management program.
  • Monitoring overall limits across credit, market and operational risks
  • Capturing data on risk events and integrating those data from a multitude of systems to build a clear and accurate view of risks across the business
  • Ensuring development and implementation of appropriate information systems for risk measurement and reporting, which identify losses, key risks to be managed, incidents etc
  • Educating the stakeholders of the Bank on its risk management strategy
  • Developing alternative risk transfer strategies such as insurance coverage for loans and Operational losses, Credit derivatives, Loan securitization etc.
  • Responsibility for carrying out integrated stress testing.
